Skill sets include:
Les attended the University of Sussex during the ‘swinging sixties’, graduating with a degree in engineering.
His first job involved long stints in many remote parts of the world where he worked as a field seismologist (oil & gas exploration, that is, not earthquakes). Returning to the UK saw a change of scene – and career – with an appointment to assistant editor of Process Engineering magazine. Since then he has worked on, and edited, a wide range of titles, covering shipping, computing, construction, automation and engineering design. In between times he served as group press and external communications officer for several large publicly quoted engineering companies. Now semi-retired, he works as a freelance writer and editor, at home in what he calls ‘God’s own county’ – East Sussex.
